Fun In Space is the debut solo album of Queen's drummer Roger Taylor.
The album tracks were produced, written and sung by Taylor, with the album being recorded between the Queen tours of their albums The Game and Flash Gordan.
As a joke, within the album credits, Taylor inserted "P.P.S. 157 synthesizers", which referred to Queen's "No Synthesizers" album notes of all albums up to The Game.
The album's cover art is based on the original artwork created by the American artist Jim Laurier, which was commissioned for the July 1980 issue of Creepy magazine.
The back cover of the album shows Roger Taylor reading that issue.
The cover artwork Alien was designed by Roger Taylor's former Smile bandmate Tim Staffell. Jim Laurier commissioned the alien and Tim Staffell wasn't aware of the album cover until he found his alien on Roger Taylor's mantlepiece when visiting his home.
