“You're My Best Friend” was written by John Deacon, which he wrote for his wife, Veronica. The song was originally recorded in 1975 by Queen, and released as a single in 1976.

The song features on Queen's fourth studio album, “A Night At The Opera”, which was named after the Marx Brothers' film of the same name.

Queen would perform the song live during their live shows between 1976 and 1980, when it was dropped and would not be played live again until after the death of Freddie Mercury.

The video for the song was filmed in 1976 at Elstree Studios and shows the band in a huge ballroom surrounded by over a thousand candles, including a huge chandelier hung from the ceiling. Deacon is seem playing a grand piano.
