Love Of My Life was originally written in 1975, but Queen only released a live version of Love Of My Life as a single in 1979, taken from their Live Killers album.
Written by Freddie Mercury, Love Of My Life reflects the plight of a man who's been abandoned by his lover; the love that has been taken from him affects him more than it does his lover, hence hearing him pleading "Please, bring it back home to me because you don't know, what it means to me"
Love Of My Life was first performed live during the 1977 News Of The World tour; it instantly became a concert favourite, where Freddie Mercury would pause singing to conduct the audience as they continued.
Since Freddie Mercury's death, during live performances of Love Of My Life, Brian May would often dedicate the song to Freddie.
